Late September, 2025
Itâs that electric hush-before-the-storm time in the Grove againâthe kind where you find yourself leaning in closer to every pouch bump, trying to guess the future based on the shape of a lump.
Weâve got two new sets of joeys expected soon, and letâs just say the excitement is real.
đ˛ The Kerrs Are Full of Surprises
Dave and Sue, our beautiful Kerr pair, are known for throwing curveballs. These two are experienced parents, and while theyâve produced joeys for us before, this time weâre seeing something newâtheyâre carrying twins.
When we mentioned this to Sueâs previous owner, her reaction said it all: total shock. Apparently, Sue had never had twins before. And, oddly enough, the Kerrs had also never produced a standard gray… until the last litter.
Itâs a reminder that even with experienced parents, glider genetics love to keep you guessing.
With both of these little ones still tucked in pouch, we have no idea whatâs coming. Are they going to surprise us with new traits? Repeat the standard gray combo? Toss in a ringtail for flair? Itâs anyoneâs guessâbut weâre watching closely and waiting patiently.
đ The Starlingsâ First Joey Ever
Just a week behind the Kerrs, our Starling pairâDusty and Dottieâare first-time parents, and weâre thrilled to be part of this milestone with them. Both parents are mosaic gliders, and this joey is their very first.
Weâre being cautiously optimistic here. With strong lineage and beautiful markings on both parents, weâre hoping their joey brings something special to the Groveâwhether visually striking, temperamentally unique, or both. But more than anything, we just want this first-time family to have a smooth and healthy experience.
âł Still in the Pouch, Still in the Dark
As of now, all we know is that both moms have obvious lumps, and everything seems to be progressing normally. No signs of stress, no pouch issuesâjust quiet growth happening behind the scenes.
We havenât peeked, prodded, or pushed. We’re letting the moms do what they do best, and we’re preparing quietly in the background. After all, the best kind of anticipation is the one that grows slowly, heartbeat by heartbeat.
đž Looking Ahead
Itâs been a whirlwind year for the Grove. From unintentional beginnings (weâre looking at you, Mini and Benji) to fully lineaged, intentional pairings with the Kerrs and Starlings, itâs starting to feel like the rhythm of the Grove is falling into place.
Weâre learning, growing, and always adaptingâbut one thing hasnât changed: every joey born here is a miracle, and every new arrival brings with it another thread in the ever-expanding story of Mountain Grove.
Stay tunedâthings are about to get adorable. đż
