Parents: Dottie & Dusty Starling
Color: Standard Gray
Nickname: Little Star
We’ve always known that Dottie and Dusty were something special. This bonded pair of mosaic gliders came to us with a uniquely calm and gentle energy. Unlike most sugar gliders, they don’t crab, lunge, or spook easily. They trust us with a kind of peaceful innocence — as if they were born knowing they were safe.
So, when we realized that Dottie was carrying their first joey, we were beyond excited. What kind of baby would these mellow, magical gliders produce? We joked that the joey might float out of the pouch already purring.
On October 9th, our hearts lit up: their first baby was officially out of pouch — a tiny standard gray girl with a bright future and a powerful name. We called her Twinkle, after the nighttime sky. With both her parents bearing celestial names and the surname Starling, it felt only right that their firstborn daughter be a twinkle in the dark.
Twinkle has already started showing signs of her lineage — she’s calm and curious like her parents, but just a tad more opinionated. She does crab on occasion, especially when we surprise her during sleepytime, but it’s clear she’s got their sweetness baked in. She’s a little star in the making.
Since she’s a standard gray — like Aryll Kerr, born just a week before her — we decided to introduce them together. Both girls come from strong, healthy lines and will make a wonderful companion pair when the time comes for adoption.
More to come soon on how these two girls begin their bond, and what’s next for this starlit duo.
